An Ode To Green

When I paint oceans, green isn’t a color I use often. I sneak it in here and there in the waves and the sky. With my upcoming collection “The Sound of Green” I am having so much fun playing with green! Painting the opposite side of my favorite island, Topsail, we have such a beautiful contrast to the ocean and its sunrises. The ocean has cooler tones, but the sky is on fire during the sunrise! On the sound side, the marsh is full of warm greens, reds, and yellows, but the sky with its beautiful sunsets take on a cooler tone. At least that is how my brain sees it! I am so excited to share this new collection with you. I am playing with gold as my underpainting instead of copper. It adds to a warm luxe glow in these pieces that pictures don’t always do justice. I am working on my new photography studio area to improve my photos with natural light. This way in the photos and videos you should get a better idea of the warm glimmer the metallic underpainting really gives to each piece. “The Sound of Green” collection will open on May 24th at 12 PM for my collectors list, and 2 PM for everyone else. If you would like to join the list to be sure you can claim your favorite piece, click the button below. I appreciate everyone that has inspired me to take on this collection. It is a little out of my wheelhouse, but it has been an exciting challenge! More marsh scapes to come!

Inspiration! There was some smoke on the horizon this day from the Croatan Forest Fire.

“Golden Light” is a 16x20 piece that will be a part of this new collection. I played with the warmer tones in both the grasses and the sky.
