Where can I purchase your original paintings?

My original oil paintings are available through my website and the galleries that represent my work. Because much of my newest work is delivered directly to my galleries, I encourage collectors to visit my Gallery Representation page to see where my paintings can currently be viewed and purchased in person.

If you are interested in a particular painting and aren't sure where it is available, please reach out. I'm happy to point you in the right direction.

Can I see your paintings in person?

Yes, and I highly recommend it whenever possible! My paintings are created with layers of oil paint, expressive palette-knife texture, and reflective metallic elements that interact with changing light. There is a depth and physical presence to the work that can be difficult to fully capture in a photograph.

My work can be viewed at several galleries in coastal North Carolina, including galleries in Wilmington. Visit my Gallery Representation page for current locations.

Do you accept commissions or special requests?

I take on a very limited number of special requests through my representing galleries.

Rather than creating an exact reproduction of a photograph or another painting, I work best when I am given the freedom to interpret a collector's ideas in my own style. A favorite location, general color palette, subject, or meaningful landscape can serve as inspiration, while the final composition and artistic decisions remain part of my creative process. Please contact one of my representing galleries if you are interested in discussing a special request.

I love a painting that has already sold. Can you paint something similar?

Sold originals remain one of a kind, so I don't recreate paintings exactly. However, previous work can sometimes inspire a completely new painting with a similar atmosphere, subject, palette, or feeling. If there is a sold piece you especially love, feel free to reach out or contact one of my galleries about the possibility of a future piece inspired by it.

About the Artwork

What materials do you use?

I create original oil paintings primarily using palette knives rather than traditional brushes. My paintings are built with expressive layers of oil paint, rich texture, and metallic elements that allow light to interact with the surface in different ways throughout the day.

My process is solvent-free, and each painting is created by hand in my coastal North Carolina studio.

What inspires your paintings?

Light and atmosphere are at the heart of my work.

Having lived in many places, I've always been drawn to bodies of water and the way light transforms a landscape. Living in coastal North Carolina has given me endless inspiration, from Topsail Island and the beaches surrounding Wilmington to the marshes, waterways, and coastal landscapes of the Carolinas and the lowcountry.

Rather than trying to reproduce a landscape exactly as it appears, I'm interested in capturing the feeling of being there: an illuminated horizon, a dramatic sky, reflections across water, or those fleeting moments when an ordinary landscape suddenly feels extraordinary.

Are your paintings framed?

Many of my paintings are created on gallery-wrapped canvas and are designed to look beautiful displayed without a frame. Some paintings may be framed depending on the piece or gallery presentation. The individual artwork listing will indicate whether a frame is included. If you have questions about framing a particular painting, please feel free to ask.

Are original paintings ready to hang?

Unless otherwise noted, original paintings are finished and prepared for display. Specific hanging or framing information can also be found with the individual artwork or provided by the gallery representing the piece.

How do I care for an original oil painting?

Oil paintings on canvas are remarkably durable and, with proper care, can be enjoyed for generations.

Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive moisture, and extreme changes in temperature or humidity. Because my paintings often have substantial palette-knife texture, dust should be removed gently using a clean, soft, dry brush rather than rubbing the surface.

Avoid household cleaners, water, or cleaning solutions on the painted surface. If an original ever requires significant cleaning or restoration, I recommend consulting a professional art conservator. The metallic elements incorporated into some of my paintings may also change subtly with time and light, becoming part of the individual character of the piece.

Shipping

Do you ship original artwork?

Yes. Shipping options depend on the size and destination of the painting. If shipping is available directly through my website, those options will appear with the artwork. For larger paintings or pieces represented by a gallery, please contact me or the gallery for shipping information and a quote. For additional details, visit my Shipping page.

Do you ship internationally?

International shipping may be available depending on the size of the artwork and destination country. If you don't see an international shipping option for a piece you're interested in, please contact me for a quote.

Any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the collector. I recommend checking with your local customs authority before purchasing if you have questions about potential fees.

Prints & New Releases

Do you offer prints of your paintings?

Select paintings may occasionally be released as fine art prints in limited sizes or for a limited period of time. Most of my work, however, is created and sold as one-of-a-kind original paintings.
